Heyy,
So I have since last week come down from the feverishly high anger and frustration volcano that I was climbing following what BoJo said about the gradual reopening of the UK and a road-map, I have built a bridge and gotten over myself. Although whilst I have overcome the issues from last week, I feel I have only swapped one problem for another "familiar" one.
However, this being said there are many things to feel positive about this week - Beginning of a new month, Mr. Warehouse had his first vaccine (don't come for me he has severe Asthma and was called for his from the doctors) and I opened my first ever Etsy store!
Woofty's Dog Treats started as an idea back in 2020 and after watching numerous friends and Instagrammers I know set up small businesses or side hustles I thought why not. People have been telling me for years that I am the creative type and that I should sell some of my creations and whilst I did try that shortly before Christmas, nothing bit. So after searching online and doing some homework of my own I thought that I could turn my hand to tasty dog treats & chews to your door.
Delivered in 100% recyclable materials and with some tender love and care, Mr Warehouse and I (although mainly me at the moment) created five special selection boxes packed with natural treats and chews for your pet to enjoy. Absolutely paw-fect for all dog types and breed, each box is handcrafted with your doggo in mind. What do we do? Well if you are after a bit of everything, the “Tasty Tidbits” box is a specially selected box of our best-selling natural treats and chews which is a woof-tastic way to introduce your pooch to a variety of tasty and tantalizing snacks perfect for gnawing and munching on.
Our “Pick ‘n’ Mix Mutt” box is something to bark about with a huge variety of our best-selling singular treats. A great way to have it all, your pooch will thank you for the specially selected munchie and crunchie snacks perfect for the good-est boys and girls. A new addition to the family? Our “Playful Pup” box is the fab way to introduce your new puppy to treats and training alike. Our specially selected natural treats and chews are accompanied by a couple of toys for your new fur-baby which are a fun and ideal solution for chewing and teething - Something I know first hand can be a huge problem after the carpet disaster Frankenstein created.
How about a Pup-Princess or Princely Hound? Then the “Posh Pooch” box is a sight to behold. Your top dog deserves the best and with our hand-picked premium treats, they will be woofing for joy. Included in this box are luxurious and indulgent biscuits, chews and more this is a great gift or ideal just for your very own! Or there is always our front runner it seems at the moment with several orders already placed for our very popular box of delights - "Down on the Farm". Containing a mix in flavors ranging from beef, bacon, chicken, and even duck, there is a huge variety of natural and honest treats which make it so loved by many.
Am I hoping it will be a massive hit and take off, earning me thousands so I don't have to work a "conventional job" again? No. I am realistic. I have barely made enough to break even with the stock I bought in, however, I plan to work at it, promoting on Instagram mainly, possibly looking at a TikTok (just because small businesses do great on there and I basically spend my life scrolling in the App on a daily). I do have dreams of it being able to be a nice little side earner and maybe one day having a lady-shed dedicated to it. But for now, I have pumped £100.00 into it to get it going.
I used the money sold from all my old clothes I don't wear anymore on eBay and if it is successful then great, if its not, I still break even as I never really "had" that money to begin with. It would just mean my doggo's would be getting all the treaties and munchies and crunchies. Although judging from how they are looking at me right now and the attempts made in the spare room's mini stock room the last few weeks I think they wouldn't mind it not being a success.
I just hope that maybe I can make a little from it and maybe, who knows a few years down the line after some kids and a house move it could be a good venture! My only concern is that whilst things are slow now with everyone stuck indoors and not going out, the gradual reopening of the UK and a road-map to get out of this mess is going to see a lot more people buying in shops and eating out (myself being one of them). I just hope they have some pennies for my shop ...
